Victoria Park's Operation
Our club officially operates with a Management Committee comprised of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Publicity Officer, Gymsport Managers (3) and General members. The day-to-day operation of Vici Park is handled by the Management Committee’s Executive through Head / Senior Coaches and administrative volunteers. Member volunteers are sourced for the convening of club events such as regional and state competitions, training clinic, working bees and fundraising events. All efforts contributed by volunteers are greatly appreciated.
Vici Park is an affiliated member of Gymnastics Queensland (state governing body.). All our members must be registered athletes with the state body. The personnel coaching our programs are technical members of Gymnastics Queensland and Australian Gymnastics Federation, holding current coaching licences and attending sanctioned update courses (specific and non specific) annually – according the age eligibility rules. Coaches keep abreast of coaching and sports first aide trends. By conforming to these rules all athletes have personal accident insurance and coaches have professional indemnity insurance.
Vici Park offers lesson in five gymsports disciplines - Womens Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Mens Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG), General Gymnastics (GG) & Trampoline Gymnastics (TRP). Each discipline has a head coach or senior coach responsible for the successful operation of both recreational and competitive programmes. – 2007 appointments WAG Head Coach Rachel Milner, MAG Senior Coach Guo Shounan, RG Senior Coach Shareen MacMillian, TRP & GG Head Coach Kerry Smyth. All supplementary coaches, training squad placements and session times are co-ordinated through the Head or Senior Coaches as too is the convening of level tests, clinics and competitions.
